How To Create Unique Ocean Theme Wedding

By Jesse Jake Vickers

Since the advent of themed weddings, a number of more designs followed through, each declaring their own uniqueness from the previous. No one would want an ordinary creation for an extraordinary event in one’s life, thus it is expected that every bride and groom would want theirs to be uniquely their own. This concern for the quality of uniqueness is not an issue for those who were married off. But to those who followed, it is an entirely different perspective.

Friendly sibling rivalry is common in the family, especially if parents compare. We cannot help if parents, or even neighbors compare. So it is just normal for the next couple to be apprehensive about being unique. Some families follow traditions of wedding ceremonies. If the elder got married in the church, chances are, the younger ones will, too. This is the case if parents request it so. Church weddings are always a classic and there will always be new additions to make yours unique.

However, in the case of beach wedding, it is quite normal to ran out of ideas to qualify uniqueness. Other marry while aboard a raft, some by the seashore, some aboard a boat. A good thing about having your ceremonies aboard a raft is that, it is alone in itself, unique. It would be difficult for the guests to hear what the priest or pastor will say, so most couples prefer to do it by the seashore.

When you hear ocean-themed weddings, what are the things that comes to mind? Most probably, you will see yourself in a white, flowing gown, holding a bouquet of flowers – tulips or roses perhaps? A passing thought of plastic chairs dressed with white clothes, each one adorned with ribbons of your choice. The altar table would be pristine white, adorned with different flowers that you fancy. How about having a small gazebo constructed for the ceremony. It would put you and your groom center stage, which is the idea of the altar table being placed at the center facing your guests.

Since it is a beach wedding, you can see yourself on barefoot. You will walk down the aisle. How about placing a plywood on the sand, then covering it with a red carpet for you and your groom to walk on, then have your cute flower girl throw some flower petals? Each side of the aisle can be decorated with flowers, too.

How about having your wedding at night? That would be a sight! The suggestions above, plus some candles along the aisle to guide you as you walk to the altar. The candlelight glow can be softened by placing it inside a brown paper bag – this is good if there are no kids to play with it. However, you can use some clear glass to hold the candles, steadying it by digging a hole enough to hold the glasses.

Whether you do your ocean wedding on a night or day, wedding favors will not go out of style. How about making them memorable by having some promotional tote bags personalized with you and your partner’s favorite song, or favorite quote perhaps? Aside from being environment-friendly, it is easier to handle thus facilitating transport from your place to the ceremonial wedding venue.

A Hurdle For Carsales And Trading Post Merger

A hurdle for Carsales and Trading Post Merger

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has warned that car sllers would be squeezed for choice if the proposed deal between Carsales and Trandpost goes ahead. The chairman Rod Sims said that the proposed acquisition would remove the Telstra owned TradingPost as one of Carsales Limiteds “closest and most effective competitors .

“The Trading Post provides an alternative that is popular with dealers and private advertisers,” Mr Sims said in a statement on Friday.

“Market participants have submitted to the ACCC that new entrants have been, and are likely to continue to be, unsuccessful in any attempt to match the inventory and audience size of Carsales or its smaller competitors Trading Post, Carsguide and Drive,” the ACCC said.

The size of the Carsales audience is impressive to say the least; In data released by the ACCC courtesy of Nielsen Market Intelligence, 84% of Page Impressions in Australia within the Automotive Classifieds market are on the Carsales website.

On the surface it appears that TradingPost is not very popular with “only” 6% of Page Impressions within the marketplace, however when put into perspective as being CarSales biggest competitor in combination with a potential future merger between the sites, its possible that CarSales would further dominate with over 90% of Page Views.

There are two other notable competitors (second and third largest competitors to Carsales) which are Carsguide and Drive of whom are receiving 4% and 5% of the marketplace s page views respectively. These websites are a conglomerate of News Ltd, Fairfax Media, and large car-dealership networks in Australia. The ACCC makes specific mention to the size and resources of these businesses and their inability to penetrate the market.

“The two other largest competitors are Carsguide and Drive. The ACCC s market inquiries suggest these parties have struggled to win market share from Carsales despite having ownership links to print classifieds in newspapers, which might be expected to provide some competitive advantage through delivering audience and providing scope for bundled offers.”

Further concerns were raised with the following blunt comment:

“The ACCC is concerned that network effects may exacerbate the competitive harm arising from the proposed acquisition, by adding significant inventory and audience to Carsales.”

It is clear that the ACCC feels that the proposed merger would be detrimental to the marketplace, however it is yet to be see if they will forcibly put a stop to it.

The ACCC is currently seeking further feedback and has revised its decision date back to 29th November 2012.
